This paper examines whether restrictive data policies are related to trade in services. The authors have collected comparable information on a variety of policy measures that regulate for wide group countries the years 2006–2016. is compiled weighted index assesses restrictiveness these countries’ policies. They distinguish between regulating cross-border movement and domestic use data. Using econometric estimations, they show strict negatively significantly associated with imports data-intense Therefore, applying policies, particular respect flow data, likely suffer from lower levels services traded cross-border. results this analysis significant hold various robustness checks.
